Qualifications & Skills
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (EEE), Electronics Engineering (ECE), Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics & Telecommunication (E&TC)
- 0-2 years of experience in the automotive industry, electronics products manufacturing, or EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services)
- Solid understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques
- Familiarity with quality and business systems, and TS16949 standards
- Proficiency in measurement techniques and the ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team and thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Junior Engineer in the GBS Engineering team, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with Design and Manufacturing Engineers to define process parameters and ensure effective supplier process capability
- Supporting the supplier approval process by evaluating manufacturing/technology capabilities and assessing Health, Safety, and Environmental risks
- Ensuring supplier quality meets required standards during new product launches
- Assisting with root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues
- Promoting the use of continuous improvement techniques such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Reviewing and collaborating with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and enhance value
- Monitoring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for process quality
- Assisting in internal and external audits to maintain quality standards
- Writing reports and presenting progress in project meetings
- Participating in cross-functional teams to develop new products or improve existing ones
- Managing supplier Material/Non-Material cost recovery for quality issues
